About Elmtree

Based in Bristol, Elmtree were established in 1969 primarily by our current Chairman Keith Lynch to carry out domestic gardening work, but rapidly expanded into carrying out landscaping within the housebuilding sector and small scale construction projects.

All Staff Are Directly Employed
and CSCS Qualified

All of our supervisors have the SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) qualification and some of our management team have the SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.

Training needs are identified on an ongoing basis, we believe a fully trained and motivated workforce is vital to the job quality. To this end, we have a training matrix and regularly review individual training requirements in accordance with our overall company requirements.

We think we are a little different from many other landscapers for many reasons. Above all, we care about what we do and will not hand over a job to the Client until we are happy with it ourselves—it has to meet our own high standards and hopefully exceed the Clients.

  • Elmtree are members of BALI (British Association Landscape Industries), and are accredited to SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement), as well as CHAS.
  • In April 2012 we were proud to be awarded Investors In People.
  • Elmtree were delighted to win the 2018 Pro Landscaper Supreme winner award along with the Landscape £2m-£10m turnover award.
  • We have won multiple BALI Awards for our projects.
  • In 2019 we celebrated 50 years of service and also received Crest Nicholson South West Sub-contractor of the year award.
  • In 2022 we were honoured to win Employer of The Year at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards, as well as Supreme Winners. We are the only company to have been Supreme Winners on more than one occasion.

Our office team is experienced and efficient, we believe this is as important as the quality of the work on-site.

We have a loyal and experienced team and our staff retention rate is very high. Some of our staff has worked with us for over 30 years so you can be assured you are getting the best skills on your project.

Specialist teams are trained in grounds maintenance, tree work and semi-mature tree planting. We also have fully qualified bricklayers and carpenters on board for hard landscaping projects, and are specialists in large decking and timber walkway projects.

Having worked with Elmtree on a variety of contracts in the Health & Education Sectors I highly commend Paul and his team’s consistent approach to the delivery of high quality Landscaping Services. Just a quick note. Myself & members of the board visited Ambrose Gardens yesterday afternoon. The landscaping & turfing was excellent. The turf looked like a carpet & having the right sized plants with the topsoil left down so your bark mulch sits flush with the edging as opposed to being proud then drying out looked spot on. Sometimes housebuilders only contract subcontractors when there is something wrong. Thought I'd let you know that we all agreed that it's the best landscaping we have seen for a long time.
